Belarus should return to a safe and calm life this year, and the Prosecutor General's Office should be more actively involved in this work. The head of state set the task for the department and its new head Andrei Shved.
The President made a personnel decision the day before, and today Alexander Lukashenko personally introduced the Prosecutor General to his colleagues. The key figures of the General Prosecutor's Office gathered: members of the central office and regional prosecutors. The President expressed words of gratitude to the ex-leader. Alexander Konyuk worked in office for 9 years and never made the head of state regret his appointment.
Alexander Lukashenka has hopes for the new leader who has gone through the entire prosecutor’s career path. The President is convinced that this is an example of training personnel who must govern the country. The head of state expressed his opinion on how it is necessary for the prosecutor's office to work, saying that the Prosecutor's Office actions should correspond to the current period to preserve the country, independence and its security.
The main task for the General Prosecutor's Office today is to ensure peace and order in the country, despite information attacks, influence of Telegram channels, pressure on labor collectives, riots in the streets and unauthorized rallies.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that he was elected not to give up the power. The President also urged not to betray the country and stand up to hype. Alexander Lukashenko said that we had enough legislation and laws to save the country from the outside invasion, so that it did not repeat the fate of Ukraine, Libya, Syria and so on.
The President is convinced, that the Prosecutor General's Office of Belarus must take control of all pressing issues, react more actively to events taking place in the country and take preventive actions. The department, according to Andrei Shved, mobilizes all responsible persons in order to ensure peace and order in the country.
Alexander Lukashenko called on prosecutors to stand guard over the law, to give a legal assessment of the actions of the Coordinating Council and to take sharp measures to respond to illegal actions.
