Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin held talks on the future of the Union State programs and the relations between Minsk and Moscow. The meeting took place in the Russian capital.
The two leaders had a lot of issues to discuss ranging from the situation in the region to economy and tax systems harmonization. The President of Belarus pointed to the progress in the road map.
The leaders also touched upon geopolitical issues: exacerbation of the situation in Donbas has already affected the calmness in the region. Vladimir Putin said he was ready to sit down at the negotiating table with the President of Ukraine. Belarus can do the same on the basis of neutrality. But in general, the heads of states focused on the economy and on the most urgent issues: vaccination of population, removal of sanitary barriers and opening of borders.
By the way, another forum of the regions of Belarus and Russia will be held this summer. Moscow Region will host a major event. The parties will also hold a meeting of the Supreme State Council, where programs and documents will be formalized.
