Lukashenko: If we do not solve the refugee problem in Belarus now, it will become more problematic

26 ноября 2021
Our task is to help people in trouble. Alexander Lukashenko stated this today. The President arrived at the logistics center near Bruzgi checkpoint at the border. The Head of State personally talked to people who were stuck at the Polish cordon. Belarus provided the refugees with all possible humanitarian aid, a site for accommodation. Immediately upon the arrival, Alexander Lukashenko went to observe how people's life was arranged.

The necessary living conditions have been created for the refugees so that they could warm up, sleep normally, and eat. The President talked to people. Everyone has a common misfortune and a story to tell. Alexander Lukashenko’s instant order is to help a woman whose five family members are missing. This high level personal approach was clearly a novelty for foreigners.

While addressing people, the President said simply and precisely: Belarus will not play and build politics on the fate of refugees.

The Head of State recalled that about a thousand migrants were evacuated from Belarus to their homeland. They wanted to return. It is fundamentally important that Minsk will not forcibly return people home, as well as hinder those who want to go to the West.

The President could be asked any questions. People thanked Alexander Lukashenko for everything done by the Belarusian side.

A. Lukashenko: Belarus does not want any war and confrontation in the center of Europe

The assumption that Belarus benefits from the refugee crisis was voiced by some European media. The President once again denied this statement, while answering journalists' questions. This opportunity was used not only by representatives of the Belarusian media, but also by a number of foreign countries. While our country in every possible way contributes to the solution of the migration crisis at the border and creates human conditions for the refugees, the European Union ignores this problem and drags on with its solution. Alexander Lukashenko commented on the scarcity of financial receipts from the West for the needs of refugees. The President suggested the reasons for the lack of financial assistance.

The Head of State once again voiced the message to the world media - our country does not want any war and confrontation in the center of Europe. However, this is not in the interests of Europe. The same can be said about the United States of America, which is not the first time to fight with someone else's means.

The Head of State listened attentively to the migrants, and also offered to convey all questions and wishes on a list. Belarus adheres to the same position: it helps people and is ready to assist in every possible way to ensure that the situation with refugees is resolved as quickly as possible.
