Protests of people against the sanctions of the West, creation of primary organizations at enterprises, including private ones - these key points were defined by the President at the meeting in the Palace of Independence with the head of the Federation of Trade Unions, Mikhail Orda. The Head of State also drew attention to the progress of the harvesting campaign. As far as the primary union organizations are concerned, Alexander Lukashenko insists on the position that he has voiced many times before: if a company refuses to create a trade union, it will be up to the point of its liquidation, because a trade union is necessary to protect the rights and freedoms of workers of all ranks and specializations. Over the year the number of primary trade unions at private enterprises increased by almost 3 thousand.
Speaking to journalists after the report to the President, Mikhail Orda pointed out that trade unions were necessary for effective social dialogue between the employer and the employee in all economic spheres. Thus, the number of trade unions increased by almost 3,000, especially in private sector, during the year.
During the report, Alexander Lukashenko and the head of the FTU also touched upon the issue of control over pricing: it should be fair. The same applies to the protection of farm workers and ensuring decent working conditions. All of this is an important part of social responsibility, not only of the state but also of enterprises.
