The President of Belarus has set a global task for the government: to achieve 100% energy independence and security. Today there was a big talk about the development and future of national energy. The power system of Belarus is considered by experts to be one of the most reliable and efficient ones in the post-Soviet space, but there is a need to eliminate the existing shortcomings. This sector of the economy can work more efficiently. The proposals of the government have been sent for revision. The President is demanding a clear plan to expand the use of electricity in various fields.

It is significant that this year we completely abandoned the purchase of electricity.

The question that is inextricably linked with the further development of the Belarusian energy industry is the use of electricity. We have sufficient capacity, and with the commissioning of the Belarusian NPP there will be even more electricity.

An important task for the Council of Ministers is to develop a clear, and most importantly, realistic plan how to use more electricity in industry, agriculture, transport, utilities and the IT sector.

The details of the electricity plan will be presented in the first half of next year. And today, the meeting discussed in detail the development of the entire energy system and in particular the shortcomings of the current structure, options for optimization and the new system of work. A whole range of opinions was voiced. The government has a vision how to improve the industry.

Independent experts will be involved. Transformations should have a tangible effect on the energy system, enterprises and people. The main goal is to reach 100% energy independence and security.
