Alexander Lukashenko took office as the President of Belarus at the Palace of Independence.

Alexander Lukashenko addressed the audience at the Palace of Independence and touched upon the economy, the social sphere, the health sector. In the next 5 years the country must be guided by the goal to become one of the most developed countries in the world due to innovation.
The president spoke on the most acute topic of modern times - reforms. Our national quiet and comfortable path of modernization is supported by many, if not most people in the world today.
The president emphasized in his policy speech that Belarus should not be torn apart by the West and the East. Our sovereignty is not a weathervane.
Inauguration completed a difficult stage in recent history and opened a new stage, with new challenges and opportunities to strengthen national sovereignty. Its sustainability does not only depend on the Belarusian leader, but also on every citizen of Belarus, whose rights and interests will be defended by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
