March 29 marks start of Belarusian President’s three-day official visit to Turkmenistan

By Natalia Breus: President Alexander Lukashenko has arrived on an official visit to Turkmenistan tonight. The visit’s agenda includes a series of meetings and events. The Belarusian leader is scheduled to hold negotiations with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The two leaders are planned to take part in the opening ceremony of the Belarusian Embassy in Turkmenistan.

The parties are maintaining a full-fledged dialogue, which is proved by a large-scale joint project - the Garlyk mining and processing plant. The official launch of the facility will be attended by the two Presidents. The joint project gave an impetus to bilateral cooperation. As a result, Belarus’ machinery and equipment exports went up and 1,500 new jobs were created in Turkmenistan.
