In connection with the death of children and adolescents in Gorlovka inDonetsk Region, the OSCE Special Representative, Martin Sajdik called the parties to the conflict to proceed to humanitarian demining of isolated points and checkpoints. A joint statement was adopted on the inadmissibility of non-selective laying of mines along the contact line.
Martin Sajdik, Special Representative of the Contact Group:
"As it is known, on September 30, three children were killed by a mine in Gorlovka, one child was injured. On the same day, another teenager was injured as a result of shelling in Staromikhaylovka. Obviously, there is a need to take urgent measures for humanitarian demining. We call the parties to proceed to the prompt and complete humanitarian demining of settlements and checkpoints."
