Meeting of Council of CIS Foreign Ministers held

The need to respond promptly to emerging threats was also discussed today at the meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers. The exchange of views took place in the format of a video conference. The agenda includes information security, military cooperation, development of integration, regional and international problems. The conversation also touched on the strengthening of border security on the external borders.

V. Makei: military cooperation of the CIS countries is important in the current geopolitical situation

Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus: "As part of the discussion of this issue, the draft concept of military cooperation until 2025 was adopted. And a program of cooperation between the border departments of our states for the next 5 years. I think that these documents create a very important basis for further interaction of departments in the CIS space. And this is important because we see what threats we are now facing in the field of geopolitical security. This threat exists along the perimeter of our borders, so we must find timely and adequate responses to these threats."

Foreign Minister Volodymyr Makei stressed that the country will not tolerate the mentoring tone of its partners on the issue of representing the country in the international arena.
