Vladimir Makei and Olivér Várhelyi discuss prospects for cooperation between Belarus and European Union

Prospects of visa-free regime between the European Union and Belarus, as well as accelerating border control procedures were discussed today at a video conference by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei and European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi.

The issues of increasing EU investments, as well as job creation in partner countries, including through the implementation of projects by international financial institution were considered as well. Vladimir Makei spoke in favor of increasing interconnection between the European Union and partner countries, which can be facilitated by the extension of the Trans-European transport networks, as well as the development of a plan of energy connections between the European Union and the countries of the "Eastern Partnership".
