Economy, joint projects, as well as reacting to external pressure and sanctions policy were the topics of the talks between Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin in Sochi Friday. By the way, the meeting of the presidents of Belarus and Russia (the third one this year) lasted for over five hours. The mutual trade turnover shows growth, and in 2021 the two countries plan to surpass the pre-pandemic volumes, which were over $35 billion. They discussed the integration agenda, and the leaders agreed that this process should move forward gradually, in accordance with the interests of both sides. By the way, experts both in Russia and Belarus, who closely followed the negotiations, noted that the presidents have common positions on most of the issues. Including on the inadequate reaction of the West over the Ryanair incident.

Everyone understands that we will be tested more than once and we will have to prove the viability of our partnership. The allies are ready for that.
