Vladimir Andreichenko heads lower house of parliament

His candidacy for the post of speaker was supported by an absolute majority: only one person of 110 deputies was against his candidacy. Vladimir Andreichenko took the chair for the third time. Speaking to the MPs, he thanked for their trust and expressed hope for effective cooperation in implementation of the course, set by the management of the country: socio-economic development, increasing of exports, creation of jobs in enterprises. Also, the speaker set the task to obtain the observer status in the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference and to intensify cooperation with the PACE. 14 permanent commissions have been formed in the current convocation. Their members and leaders will be elected on Thursday. The vice-speaker will be elected on the same day.
