Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan are discussing information security, combating illegal migration and drug trafficking. Experts emphasize, international cooperation plays a big role in these matters. Thanks to one of the anti-drug operations, involving more than 20 countries, over 20 tons of various drugs were withdrawn from circulation.
The situation at the borders of the CSTO was discussed as well. In recent years, NATO has reinforced fivefold the military contingent in the Baltic countries and Poland.
Also today the Tauride Palace hosted a meeting of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS. Valentina Matvienko was reelected as the chairman. 2018 is the year of culture which is the main theme of the meeting Intercultural Dialogue of the Commonwealth.
