Tashkent has hosted a regular meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers, Belarus’ delegation headed by Vladimir Makei.
The agenda included such key issues as the optimization of the CIS Economic Court’s activities and the assessment of the practical application of the procedure for distributing quota positions among the member states in the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting approved a plan of multi-level consultations between the Foreign Ministries for 2017 and considered a set of issues on perfecting the mechanisms of interaction between the member states’ law-enforcement bodies.
The Foreign Ministers adopted a statement on the unacceptability of discrimination and intolerance towards Christians, Muslims and representatives of other denominations. The participants decided to hold another regular meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council on October 10 in Moscow, prior to a summit of the CIS Heads of State.
The Belarusian Foreign Minister met with the CIS Foreign Ministries’ heads to discuss the most pressing international agenda issues.
