Representatives of 140 countries gathered at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. The Belarusian delegation at the conference is headed by Speaker of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko. The position of Belarus is unchanged: military conflicts are unacceptable, the world should be multipolar. Vladimir Andreichenko reminds that Belarus has fulfilled the Millennium Development Goals. There is no poverty and hunger in the country, high levels of literacy have been achieved, and infant mortality was reduced almost to zero.

The main focus of the conference was made on the goals of sustainable development to be adopted at the UN summit in late September. The plan will define our roadmap until 2030. As the experts say, it is a revolutionary and comprehensive action plan, which consists of 17 goals. Members of the United Nations are confident that it will be a turning point in the history of mankind.

In May 2015 at the initiative of our country a tree of peace and unity was planted in the courtyard of the UN as a tribute to the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The ceremony was attended by dozens of politicians including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The initiative of our country was immediately joined by dozens countries.
