Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei held a number of meetings within the framework of participation in the session of the UN General Assembly. Vladimir Makey met with the Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Anthony Lake. Vladimir Makei noted that the issues of protecting children and the family are in the focus of the attention of our country. Anthony Lake highly appreciated the efforts of Belarus to promote the rights of children.
In addition, Vladimir Makei held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Syria Walid Muallem, who expressed his special gratitude for cooperation in humanitarian sphere, in particular for the reception of Syrian children in the children's camp Zubrenok in August.
