About 400 contenders for the deputy seat were excluded from the electoral race. Most rural districts will be non-alternative. Two districts in Novogrudok were completely without candidates. According to Lydia Yermoshina, most of the refusals to register were legitimate. However, in some cases, election commissions did not forgive even formal errors. For example, a wheelchair user in the Borisov district was refused registration because of a technical error that his trusted representative admitted. He could not file documents himself, the commission is located on the third floor. According to Lydia Yermoshina, in this case the election commission should have been more careful about this issue.
Lydia Yermoshina, the chairman of the Central Commission of Belarus for Elections and Republican Referendums: "The Central Election Commission can not abolish this decision, it is formally true, that is legitimate, but I think that nothing prevents the territorial Borisov regional commission itself from returning to consideration of this issue, recognize that there was a technical error that was made due to the fact that the candidate did not have the possibility of such free access to the election commission as other candidates".
It should be noted that in the current election campaign for the first time involved people with disabilities. The preliminary stage featured two people from this category. They will continue the electoral race for the deputy seat in Gomel Regional and Pinsk City Councils.
