Supply of Russian energy resources, bilateral trade and development of Eurasian integration was discussed at negotiations between the Prime Ministers of Belarus and Russia in Moscow. The meeting was held at the Government House in an extended format. Despite the fact that countries have managed to stabilize trade turnover at the level of 35-36 billion dollars, nevertheless, there are still a number of issues on integration processes that need to be discussed.
Sergei Rumas, Prime Minister of Belarus: "One of the issues we have to discuss is energy supplies. The market situation with oil prices brings our positions closer and mitigates the discrepancies".
Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of Russia: "Belarus is an ally and strategic partner for Russia. Last year marked the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Union State Treaty. I am convinced that in the new decade it will be possible to use the full potential of the treaty. Belarus is Russia's leading foreign economic partner in the CIS".
The Presidents of Belarus and Russia have set an important task for the governments of the two countries - to prepare documents on the integration strategy. The final document will be agreed upon and submitted to the heads of state at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, to be held in Minsk on April 10.
