This year’s last meeting of contact group to take place in Minsk

This year’s last meeting of the contact group on the settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine will take place in Minsk today. The meeting will take place against the background of continuing tension on the contact line in the Donbass and in Ukrainian-Russian relations. On the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays, the parties will try to take any measures to normalize the security situation in the region. It is expected that a new armistice agreement will be signed. In addition, members of the contact group will consider the issue of the exchange of prisoners.
