Today, the Tripartite Contact Group on the situation in eastern Ukraine is meeting in Minsk. The participants plan to discuss the issues that were voiced yesterday at the ministerial meeting of the Normandy Four in Berlin. Among the issues is a possible UN mission in the Donbass. The region has come under more frequent shelling and casualties among civilians have increased as well. The participants will also pay attention to humanitarian issues and security issues. The key question is to finalise the Steinmeier formula and amendments to the Ukrainian legislation that outline a mechanism for the special status of the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.
