OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President arrives in Minsk

Minsk is welcoming participants of the 26th Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. About 700 delegates are expected to attend the event.

Today, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Christine Muttonen (Austria) arrived in Minsk. The session will start tomorrow. It will be dedicated to strengthening mutual trust and cooperation for peace and prosperity in the region.

Christine Muttonen, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly: "Minsk has long become a platform where important forums are being held and issues of peace building are being discussed. We see Belarus not only as a bridge between the East and the West, but also between as a link between different states. Belarus has long been an important international platform."

The agenda of the session consists of the reports of three general committees - on political, economic and humanitarian issues. The adopted resolutions will become the basis of the Minsk Declaration. The document will become a set of recommendations for national governments, parliaments and the international community on how to respond to the pressing threats and challenges.
