In the decoration of streets and squares, we increasingly see the national flags in red and green colors and other symbols of the Belarusian statehood.

The state symbols of Belarus were adopted in a nationwide referendum in 1995. Since then, they have been changed only once. In 2012, some changes were made to the ornament of the flag.

With this usually our athletes are welcomed by fans in the stands. It is raised if the Belarusian athletes win at international competitions. The ceremony is accompanied by another state symbol, the anthem of the country. In Belarus, the hymn is the youngest state symbol. Its text was adopted in 2002. Until that time, only the music existed.

.As a mark of the national unity, the state symbols are present on all state holidays. The parade on Victory Day or Independence Day is a vivid confirmation of this.

One of the main attributes of the sports procession is the huge national flag of the Republic of Belarus measuring 9 by 75 meters.
