Today, Astana is hosting a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. Belarus will be represented by Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov. The heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union countries will discuss issues of economy and financial policy, energy and infrastructure, informatization, and trade and customs regulations. The meeting will be held within the framework of the Expo 2017 forum. The slogan of the exhibition is Future Energy. It highlights one of the most relevant topics of concern to the world community – alternative energy sources. While visiting the Belarusian pavilion, the Prime Minister stated that Belarus expects to develop joint energy projects with other states.

Andrei Kobyakov, the Prime Minister of Belarus: "In Belarus, traditional sources of energy such as gas, wood and coal are being gradually replaced with wind, sun, and biofuel. Also, we are developing atomic energy – we are building a nuclear power plant that will be one of the most modern and safe nuclear power plants in the world. I am convinced that only through joint efforts we will be able to preserve the natural potential of our planet and to ensure the availability of future energy for new generations."

Yesterday, Astana hosted the Belarus - Kazakhstan business forum and an exhibition of Belarusian manufacturers - Made in Belarus. The exhibition will work through tomorrow. As a result, new contracts are expected to be signed. In general, Belarus and Kazakhstan plan to reach the turnover of one billion dollars.
