Belarus' chairmanship in the CSTO has become very effective for the organization, said Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO Valery Semerikov in Moscow today. In particular, at the initiative of our country, the foreign policy cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty member states was strengthened and the authority of the organization on the international arena was enhanced .
Valery Semerikov, Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO: "Belarus said:" We need to work out a partnership mechanism and adopt it. This mechanism was worked out in 2017. The heads of state discussed this issue and adopted a separate protocol decision, and in 2018 we will launch the Partnership Institute."
International cooperation leads to effective results. For example, the anti-drug operation "Channel", in which more than 20 countries participate. In 2017, more than 20 tons of various narcotic drugs were withdrawn from circulation.
