Participants stress importance of international Minsk Dialogue Conference

Branimir Filippovich, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs for Security Policy of Serbia: “I think this is a very important event. I think it’s very useful in our time to conduct a more substantive dialogue on security in Europe. That is why we were very happy to receive an invitation fr om the Belarusian side."

Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy (2009-2014): "I am very glad to come to Minsk, where I was several years ago. I am very pleased to see with my own eyes how it is evolving, it’s constantly changing. Minsk is located in the heart of the region, wh ere there are so many issues for discussion. It is important that people got an opportunity to visit the city and take part in the discussion."

Jacob Wellenstein, Country Director for Belarus of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung: “A good brief discussion is the main base for an impeccable dialogue, which is set as the theme of this conference. The theme of the conference aimed at bringing people from all over the continent together, listening to the arguments of different parties in order to avoid the formation of various conflicts. The format of the direct conversation has many benefits."

The main goal of the Minsk Dialogue is to establish general stability, the guarantors of which may be uniform rules and norms of behavior in the international relations. The Minsk negotiations are a good start for further work of the world expert community.
