The summit, which will be attended by the President of Belarus, will be held in Ashgabat on Friday. The agenda includes a wide range of issues in economy, combating terrorism, the humanitarian sphere and even sports. Such meetings are also an opportunity for leaders to discuss bilateral relations.

A meeting of foreign ministers of the CIS countries will take place today. This is a traditional practice for heads of foreign ministries. One of the topics on the ministerial agenda is the CIS Games, which will be held for the first time next year. In addition, the diplomats will discuss the work on information security, the creation of a unified communication system of the armed forces and the fight against drug trafficking.

The dialogue today "is the only tool to step back from the brink of the global conflict," said Alexander Lukashenko at the recent Minsk Forum. Security issues will also be raised at the CIS summit.

Of course, such platforms are also a good opportunity to discuss bilateral relations. The trade between Minsk and Ashgabat has been declining lately, and the new ambassador will have to deal with these issues. Yesterday, Vyacheslav Beskosty presented credentials to the President of Turkmenistan.

As for the agenda of the Council of Heads of State, among the important documents is the address on the occasion on the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Declaration on Strategic Economic Cooperation in the CIS will also be submitted for consideration. The issues of combating terrorism and extremism will be discussed as well.
