Phone conversation between Presidents of Belarus and Latvia held today

Alexander Lukashenko and Egils Levits held a telephone conversation and discussed the upcoming visit of the Head of the Belarusian State to Riga. It was postponed to a later date in connection with the state of emergency in Latvia. New dates will be agreed through diplomatic channels.

The Heads of the States discussed the main aspects of bilateral cooperation. The neighboring countries have a mutual interest in cargo transportation, energy transit, industrial cooperation. Interaction under the conditions of border closure and the prohibition of movement of citizens were discussed. Belarus and Latvia have established constructive and close cooperation, thanks to which thousands of people had an opportunity to return home. Alexander Lukashenko expressed special gratitude to his colleague for assisting in organizing the children's return from the resort in Jurmala.
