Presidents of Belarus and Russia had a telephone conversation last night. They agreed during the CSTO summit in the morning to continue discussing the situation in Afghanistan and compare their positions on the urgent aspects of the bilateral agenda, in particular, on economic and politico-military issues.
As a result, the conversation turned to the economic component of the relationship. The allied programs that are currently at a high degree of readiness were discussed. Specific decisions will be made in the near future. They also discussed the forthcoming exercise West-2021.
Presidents discussed in detail the situation on the borders of Belarus with the countries of NATO. They also spoke about cooperation in the training of military and special services, as well as cooperation in the media. The two leaders agreed on a schedule for contacts at the highest level in the near future.
