CIS Council of Foreign Ministers to keep agenda proposed by Belarus

The positive dynamics of CIS development was maintained thanks to the Belarusian presidency in the Commonwealth of Independent States even during the pandemic. This was stated today by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS in Moscow. In turn, the Belarusian Foreign Minister noted that the program adopted in 2020 to strengthen foreign policy cooperation in the CIS has shown its effectiveness.

Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus: "Despite the epidemiological limitations, all the departments of the Commonwealth are working at a good pace on the free movement of the citizens in our region."

The next meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers is scheduled for autumn in Minsk. Belarus also expects that the anniversary meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth in October will be held in our country offline. It is expected to adopt significant documents.
