Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the sanctions pressure on Belarus unacceptable. And he stated that the Russian side is observing attempts to disrupt the situation in our country from the outside.
Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister: "We see attempts to shake the situation. Our Lithuanian neighbors, in my opinion, have crossed all the lines of decency in their demand. They work with Svetlana Tikhanovskaya by non-democratic methods, showing no respect for the sovereignty of Belarus.
We are convinced that the Belarusian people have every opportunity to solve this problem on their own. There are issues that need to be discussed. But we consider it unacceptable in the modern world to act as a judge, as our Western colleagues are trying to do, to pass sentences right away, to execute these sentences by imposing sanctions and other threats."
