During a working meeting with Lidia Yermoshina – the Chair of the Central Election Commission, President Alexander Lukashenko supported the proposal to hold elections to the local Councils of Deputies on 18 February, 2018. According to the Belarusian leader, February is a fitting month for an important political campaign.
Concerning the financing of the elections, the President stressed the need for a frugal expenditure of funds. At the same time, the main emphasis in spending should be made on the payment of those who work for election commissions.
