Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus holds telephone conversation with US Secretary of State

During the conversation, the U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo explained the reasons for the postponement of his visit to our country (he originally planned to fly to Minsk on January 4). Belarus confirmed its readiness to receive the Secretary of State on mutually acceptable dates. The sides stressed the importance of an open exchange of views on the development of bilateral relations, the situation in the region and in the world in general. 

During the discussion of the situation in the Middle East region, Vladimir Makei expressed his condemnation of any actions that violate the privileges and immunities of the Vienna Convention. The Belarusian side calls all the sides to exercise restraint and seek de-escalation of the tension.
