Minsk is becoming a platform for an international discussion on security issues, both political and economic. Today, the forum Minsk Dialogue opens. About 350 leading analysts and politicians from 40 countries of the world will participate in it. The list of partners has research centres in the US and Germany. Experts from Russia and China are widely represented as well. The agenda includes regional security issues in the context of global processes. The leitmotif of the event will be the initiative of the President of Belarus – the launch of Helsinki 2.
The extensive programme of discussions also includes such practical issues as the implementation of the Minsk Agreements in Ukraine, the arms control in Europe, the sanctions war between Russia and the West and their impact on Belarus and the region as a whole. Special attention will be paid to the development of the Eastern Partnership initiative and the Chinese project One Belt, One Way.
