26 декабря 2013

The second day of talks in Moscow was entirely devoted to bilateral Belarus-Russia relations. Opening the meeting as the Chairman of the State Council, Alexander Lukashenko pointed out the growing dynamics of the relationship, proved by the frequency of meetings: the Union State Supreme Council met twice this year.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, the money allocated will work for the benefit of the economies of the two countries. The turnover between Belarus and Russia is impressive, amounting to USD 40 billion. Today Belarus occupies the first place in Russia's foreign trade with the CIS countries and the 5-th - with all countries of the world.

The benefits of mutual cooperation are obvious: Belarus buys in Russia raw materials and component parts. Thus, Belarus indirectly creates jobs for about 10 million Russian citizens. What is important is that Russia tries to find solution to problems created by Russian companies, such as the precedent with Uralkali.

Belarus and Russia agreed to increase the efficiency of cooperation in the fight against corruption. An intergovernmental agreement was signed, as well as a number of documents on military-technical cooperation and cooperation in the field of international information security.
