Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine concludes its meeting in Minsk

18 января 2018

The Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine met in Minsk for the first time this year. As announced by Martin Sajdik, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group, providing there is political will, the parties to the conflict in Ukraine can come to an agreement even on the most difficult issues. Martin Sajdik also noted that although the Contact Group held its last meeting a month ago, the work did not stop at that time, and the parties exchanged prisoners on 27 December. The exchange came after 15 months of stalemate, and it clearly showed that the parties can actually find a compromise.
