The capital of Tajikistan will host a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on September 15-17.

Alexander Lukashenko talked to Prime Minister of the country Kokhir Rasulzoda right at the airport. A little later, the President of Belarus held a meeting with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The Heads of State discussed the development of bilateral cooperation, the military-political situation in the region and the holding of the CSTO and SCO Summits in the coming days in the Tajik capital.

It is known that the Summit will highlight the problems of international and regional security and their impact on the security of the CSTO states. One of the most important issues will be the situation in Afghanistan. It is planned that the leaders will accept the Declaration of the Collective Security Council and sign several documents concerning peacekeeping, securing the activities of troops and equipping them with weapons. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, and the meeting of the Heads of State in Dushanbe is an anniversary one! Belarus received observer status in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2015. A joint meeting of the leaders of this organization and the CSTO is also planned in Tajikistan. The situation in Afghanistan and measures to ensure security in the region will be discussed. The meeting will be held on the initiative of the Head of the Belarusian State.
