Official Minsk confirms adherence to Belarusian-Russian cooperation

A statement to this effect was made by Alexander Lukashenko  during his talks with Vladimir Putin in Sochi. The parties discussed the implementation of major bilateral projects, integration issues of the Union State, and joint response to emerging challenges within the CSTO. The Belarusian leader thanked the Russian government and personally Vladimir Putin for their support during the difficult political period.

Vladimir Putin confirmed that official Moscow sees Belarus as the closest ally and will fulfill all its obligations. The Russian leader once again congratulated Alexander Lukashenko on winning the election and stressed that interference in the internal affairs of the country by outside forces is unacceptable.


Belarus - Russia: cooperation in various areas


The parties discussed the Belarusian-Russian tactical exercises. The countries will develop a plan of joint exercises for the next few years. They have also discussed the second wave of the pandemic. Vladimir Putin confirmed that Belarus will be the first country to receive the coronavirus vaccine developed by Russians.
