CIS permanent plenipotentiaries adopt agenda of CIS heads of state summit

The summit of the CIS heads of state will be held in November in Tashkent. Its agenda will include such issues as the functioning of the free trade zone, the fight against international cartels, as well as cooperation in combating terrorism. The budget and finance will be discussed as well. Today, during the talks, permanent plenipotentiary representatives also spoke about the work of the Council of the CIS Border Troops Commanders. The organization was established in 1992.

Alexander Manilov, the Deputy Chairman of the Council of the CIS Border Troops Commanders, Chairman of the Coordinating Service: "In its 25 years, the Council of Commanders has built a coherent system of information support for the activities of the Council of Commanders and heads of border agencies. The Council includes 11 states. Twice a year, the commanders meet to discuss the most urgent issues – such as strengthening border security, sharing experience in frontier service, and developing common approaches to the organization of state security, as well as the fight against corruption, illegal migration, and drug smuggling."

Viktor Guminsky, the First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee and the CIS Executive Secretary: "Today, we’ve had a meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiaries of the CIS countries, which is the key tool in the interaction between states on various issues between the meetings of the Council of the heads of state, heads of government and the Foreign Ministries. One of the issues that the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiaries is considering is the adoption of th agenda of the meetings of these bodies."

In addition, permanent plenipotentiary representatives took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition Literary Belarus – Inspiring Belarus. The exposition is dedicated to Knowledge Day, Day of Belarusian Written Language, and Day of Libraries. It includes rare books with the authors’ autographs, as well as a unique edition from the funds of the National Library – an album called The World Heritage of Francisk Skorina.
