Last preparations at polling stations

7 февраля 2018

The election of deputies of local councils will take place in 10 days, and in less than a week, early voting will begin. Today is the last day when precinct commissions across the country were required to notify voters about the time and place of voting. In general, Belarusians are well informed about the course of the election campaign. The head of the CEC drew attention to this. Lydia Yermoshina met with representatives of the district commissions of the Central District of the capital, teachers and students of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture.

Traditionally, one can vote at home. For example, for health reasons. You just need to apply to your precinct with such a request.

On Monday, the police will switch to an enhanced version of the service. The guard will be kept around the clock. And within a few days all polling stations will be provided with ballots, because in less than a week they will be filled by voters.

As early as next Tuesday, early voting will begin. The district commissions introduce the Belarusians to the lists of voters to avoid making any mistakes directly on the election day. The candidates and their teams try not to miss the last opportunity to declare themselves and their election program. In Minsk, pickets have become more frequent these days.

In Belarus, there is no a single district without candidates

During the meeting, they also announced the results of the poll of residents of the Central District. The results showed that the majority knew about the upcoming elections long before the start of the active phase of the electoral race.

This election campaign is characterized by fresh ideas. For example, mobile applications are becoming increasingly popular with information about candidates, polling stations and routes to them. Another creative approach is to attract young people to the elections, a SELFI contest at polling stations. This is a worldwide trend.
