The Honorary Consulate of Greece in Minsk is aimed at promoting bilateral relations in the trade, economic, cultural and educational spheres. Also, Belarus and Greece have huge potential for developing contacts in the tourism sector, as stated by the Secretary General of the Greek Foreign Ministry, who visited Minsk to take part in the opening ceremony.
Belarus is likewise interested in strengthening the relations with Greece.
Greece’s diplomatic mission in Belarus has been restored after a ten-year break. According to Greek diplomats, during this period the country faced such serious problems as the debt crisis and the influx of migrants. Nevertheless, Athens continues believing in the unity of the European space, the Secretary General of the Greek Foreign Ministry said.
