A number of agreements were reached by the Presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan at the meeting in Nur-Sultan. Alexander Lukashenko and Kassym Zhomart Tokayev held a series of talks. Good prospects in terms of economic cooperation have been identified, the trade turnover between Belarus and Kazakhstan is close to a billion dollars and the countries have every opportunity to significantly increase the figure.

Industrial cooperation will become a priority of economic cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan. Our country provides assistance to Kazakhstan in large-scale projects, such as industrial and agro-industrial development programs. There is a wide range of brands of the Belarusian car industry on the market.

Along with industrial cooperation, the countries agreed to increase cooperation in other sectors of the economy: agriculture, transport and logistics. Belarus and Kazakhstan have been working closely in the field of high technologies for a long time. One of our IT companies has started to create a security system in the residence of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. The next step in the digital collaboration will be the launch of a joint venture fund to support start-ups. The possibility of supplying Kazakh oil to Belarus was also discussed today.  The countries will consult with Russia on oil supplies through its territory.

Belarus and Kazakhstan signed 6 agreements after the negotiations of the Presidents. After the talks, the Presidents adopted a joint statement reflecting the priority aspects of cooperation for the future. The governments have agreed to cooperate more closely in the area of migration.
