Parliamentary elections to be held in Belarus on Sunday

Less than a week is left before the parliamentary elections in Belarus, scheduled to be held this Sunday. Tomorrow will see the start of early voting. Each of the 110 parliamentary seats is being claimed by more than 4 candidates. According to the Central Election Commission, the campaign is taking place in an orderly manner, a smaller number of complaints being reported compared to the previous parliamentary elections.

The forthcoming elections will be monitored by more than 800 international observers representing the missions of the OSCE/ODIHR, CIS, the Parliamentary Assemblies of the Council of Europe and the OSCE, as well as the diplomatic corps. The number of national observers stands at about 25,500.
