13 июня 2018

Yesterday, President Alexander Lukashenko met with the Speaker of the Lok Sabha – the Lower Chamber of the Indian Parliament – Sumitra Mahajan. The leaders of the two countries had already met a few days ago in China, at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, where promising areas of cooperation were identified.

A significant step forward for promoting bilateral relations was the visit of the President of Belarus to India in the autumn of 2017. Back then, the two countries agreed to localize a number of Belarusian industrial enterprises in India. Among them are Gomelmash, MTZ, and MAZ. Also, Belarus will use the Indian developments to promote its farming.

The dynamics of the trade relations between Belarus and India is improving by the year. Last year, the commodity turnover of the countries reached 0.5 billion dollars.
