Belarus was represented at the summit by Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov. The heads of government signed one of the documents on the implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on the Free Trade Area. Further elimination of trade barriers between participants is a necessary condition for economic growth and development of mutual trade. Over the past couple of years, positive dynamics have been noted. A number of countries abolished restrictive tariff quotas and duties on the import of certain goods. Premiers of the CIS countries also endorsed documents in the economic sphere, in particular, the Agreement on the exchange of information necessary to determine and control the customs value of goods in the Commonwealth.

The head of the Belarusian government today also held talks with his Uzbek counterpart Abdullah Aripov. The parties discussed the activation of bilateral cooperation. As the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan stressed, the visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Tashkent should give significant dynamics to cooperation in all directions
