Next elections in Belarus can take place late next year

In n exclusive interview for The Main Air, Chair of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina spoke about the possibility of rescheduling one of the election campaigns of 2020 for late 2019.

In two years, according to the calendar of elections and referendums in the country, two large-scale elections are to be held, which is a strain for the country’s budget. 

Therefore, according to Lidia Yermoshina, the Central Election Commission of Belarus will most likely have to reschedule one of the elections. It will help both the country’s budget and the political climate in the country.

At the moment, elections to local councils of deputies are being organized. The elections are scheduled for 18 February. There are nearly 23,000 candidates ready to join the struggle for the deputy mandate this year. However, the exact number of those who will take part in the elections will be announced by the end of the next week.
