By Olga Anishchenko: Central Election Commission Chairwoman Lidia Yermoshina has announced the first official data during today’s online conference organised by BelTA.
The final list of parliamentary candidates has been formed. The total number of deputy seats amounts to 110, while the number of registered candidates is 630.
The names of the registered candidates will be available on the website of the Central Election Commission and in the media.
Now the candidates can start campaigning - this stage will run until 10 September. The candidates have almost a month to address voters at meetings, hold pickets in city streets and speak on television and radio. Belteleradiocompany channels will start broadcasting their addresses from 15 August.
Today will see a draw to set the dates and times for the candidates’ addresses.
The online conference with the Central Election Commission Chairwoman is currently continuing. Voters still have time to submit their questions to BelTA, answers to be posted on the website in real time today.
