The work of the economy amid Western sanctions was discussed at the Palace of Independence  by the President  and the government.

Restrictions are hitting the companies that employ dozens of thousands of people. And it is important to do everything possible so that the ordinary workers and their families did not suffer because of the fleeing traitors and their western sponsors. Today, when the world economy is so globalized, nobody can close down the country in the center of Europe economically.  Moreover, Belarus is a reliable partner on many markets. We must be more active in African, Asian and other markets. We can live without the EU.

Counteraction to sanctions

The President also noted that much depends on the active work of the government and the Foreign Ministry. Even under these difficult conditions there is a positive trend in the economy. The GDP has grown by 3%. That's decent. The foreign trade surplus is the highest in eight years in both exports and foreign exchange earnings. The demand for trucks, tractors and food is growing. It's important to maintain the positive momentum.
