30 сентября 2019

The leaders of the "Eurasian five" countries are coming to Armenia, where the EEU summit will take place tomorrow. The President of Belarus also arrived in Yerevan. The agenda of the forthcoming meeting of heads of state includes about a dozen and a half issues. The leaders will discuss economic cooperation, finance and energy, as well as the development of cooperation with third countries. It is known that a free trade agreement with Singapore is being prepared for signing. One of the most important issues for the official Minsk is distribution of import customs duties. These regulations have been under review for more than two years. Armenia expresses its interest in the common energy market.

Experts note the constructive initiatives of Minsk, which is constantly talking about the need to remove barriers to trade, because this is what the union is all about. Minsk always talks openly about the problems that exist in the union.

The participants see great prospects in the Eurasian association. Dozens of countries have already shown interest in the alliance, including China, Egypt and Serbia. The presence of the President of Iran and the Prime Minister of Singapore at the upcoming meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council is a sign that the club of friends and partners is expanding. Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong arrived in the Armenian capital to sign a free trade agreement with the EEU.

The presidency of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2020 passes to Belarus. Minsk always holds an active position and is determined to take serious actions in the coming year.

At the summit, Alexander Lukashenko will outline the position of Belarus on the current problems of the Union members, as well as the development of integration.

The visit of Alexander Lukashenko is an occasion to discuss the bilateral agenda. That's why, immediately after the arrival, negotiations with the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan were held.
