8 октября 2019

Hundreds of leading international experts from the EU, Russia, the USA and China participate in broad discussion.

Jacob Wellenstein, Country Director for Belarus of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung: "The President was able to illustrate the foreign policy guidelines of Belarus and how they changed in recent years. On the one hand, he stressed that Belarus has brotherly relations with Ukraine and Russia. On the other hand, he expressed his understanding of how the United States could be involved in the resolution of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. This is not happening now, but he confirmed that he would like to involve the United States in this process".

Robin Teverson, member of the British House of Lords: "The message of the President's morning speech expresses Belarus’ desire to contribute to the resolution of issues, especially the Ukrainian problem in Donbas. This is clearly fundamental for the security of the entire European future. And I welcome this role of Belarus, which is trying to balance different sides."
