The most important issues of international security will be discussed today in the Belarusian capital. Over 500 leading experts, politicians and diplomats from 50 countries have gathered at the Minsk Dialogue forum. The focus will be on the European region and more specifically on the relations between the Eurasian Economic Union and the EU, the promotion of the Eastern Partnership initiative and the One Belt One Way project. However, the main theme of the forum is how to address modern threats and challenges together.
The Minsk Dialogue forum as a platform for finding ways to de-escalate international tension began its work in March 2015. But this is the first time that the forum has reached such a large scale. Belarus is increasingly perceived as a place of stability in the region. The Belarusian President has repeatedly proposed to launch a new Helsinki process.
